HOW ARE YOUR PRODUCTS PRINTED?

All of my onesies, totes, doggo duds, can coolies, and t-shirts are screen-printed by hand in my basement studio. The majority of my greeting cards and art prints are as well. The process of screen-printing allows for flat, bold swatches of color to be applied to paper and fabric. It also allows for slight variations, making every item unique and individual. You can learn more about the screenprinting process here.

For items that have a "painted" look or have a large amount of colors- these items tend to be digitally flat printed. When an item is digitally printed, it will be indicated as such in the listing. Digitally printed items are produced in the USA to keep the prices affordable and accessible.

All* screenprinted items are printed using non-toxic, waterbased inks that are made in America. All exit343design pinback buttonsvinyl stickers, and holiday ornaments are also made in America.

*On select occasions, printing has been outsourced to a local printshop that uses plastisol ink. This is not the norm, but is possible.

WHERE ARE YOUR SUPPLIES AND SOFT-GOODS SOURCED FROM?

My screen-printed stationery and art prints are printed exclusively on papers from the French Paper Company. The French Paper Company is an independent mill based in Michigan that runs on hydropower and is highly regarded in the paper industry.

Many of the soft-goods that I use are not made in the USA. That said, I do what I can to find suppliers that are socially responsible. I'm currently sourcing blank goods from the following brands- you can click through to read about their individual corporate responsibility commitments: LAT Apparel, Bella + Canvas, and other Alphabroder brands.

WHY SCREENPRINTING?

Screen-printing is a high quality boutique-style printing method. Ink is applied with a squeegee to the surface of the paper through a screen where a "stencil" of the art has been created. Screenprints have a texture that you can see and feel and the inks never peel or fade. The colors that screenprinting inks yield is more vibrant and saturated than most digital printing methods. How does it work? Find out more right here!

CAN I CHANGE THE COLORS OR WORDING?

All paper goods are hand-pulled in batches using custom hand-mixed inks, so I cannot change colors for single items. However, custom colors may be available for larger orders- it depends on the product. Feel free to inquire- hey, it never hurts to ask!

DO YOU ACCEPT CUSTOM REQUESTS?

Yes, I do! If I have the time* and resources, I'd love to work with you on your custom project. In the past, I have designed and/or printed invitations for a variety of events, save-the-dates for weddings, band posters, album artwork, and more. At this time, I do not accept t-shirt printing requests, but will gladly help to create a design for you.

*when inquiring, be sure to mention what type of deadline or timeline your project requires- thanks so much in advance!

WHERE CAN I BUY YOUR GOODS IN PERSON?

I am lucky enough to work with some incredible brick-and-mortars across the US of A! Please check out the stockists page to find a shop in your area.

WHERE DOES THE NAME 'EXIT343DESIGN' COME FROM?

The name is a hybrid shout out to the two states I've lived in thus far. When I was an undergrad college student in New Jersey (sup Rowan Profs!), my resident classmates always referred to their hometowns by exit number on the NJ Turnpike or Parkway. I grew up in Pennsylvania and my hometown just so happens to have its own exit number on the PA Turnpike. I'll give you one guess what that number is . . .
