Kyle has been my friend since we were tots- seriously, we were in the same pre-school class! He and his now wife Dani have always been big supporters of my artwork, so it was an honor to work with them on their wedding paper. Dani has a love of the theater and wanted to fuse that with their love of Philadelphia and the “Great Gatsby” vibe that their venue Union Trust exudes. I love when couples come in with parameters like these- constraint breeds creativity and it was a fun challenge to work through!
For their save-the-date, we wanted to emulate a theater ticket. I gathered inspiration from vintage movie tickets to create this vertical design. The design is two screen-printed colors on a metallic peach card stock from Cards and Pockets. I’m most excited about the hexagon shape with their names in it; this shape and the details surrounding it were inspired by the Art Deco details of the clock face outside of Suburban Station in Center City, Philadelphia. Bonus: the barcode is scannable and goes to their wedding website!
For their invitation suite, we kept the same color scheme running throughout with many of the same fonts.
We opted for a pocket fold, again from Cards and Pockets. The main invitation was mounted to the inside left, while the map with additional info and the RSVP card were tucked in the right pocket. The border of the main invitation was inspired by the pillar design from the Market Street National Bank building in Philadelphia. The design features on the RSVP card were inspired by this crazy roofline on the Perelman Building in Philadelphia.

I am a sucker for a fun map- you might have seen the very comprehensive one I did for our own wedding or even this 2019 tote bag! They had a fair amount of folks visiting from out of town, so it was important to put some historic locales on the map for their guests.
